Days: Mon & Tues (extra days available)

Hourly rate: £14.50-£15 per hour + holiday pay

Role Purpose

We’re recruiting a resilient and nurturing Teaching Assistant to support a Year 4 pupil with social, emotional, and behavioural needs. The pupil requires consistent 1:1 support from someone confident using trauma‑informed and attachment‑aware approaches.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide full‑time 1:1 support to a Year 4 pupil with SEMH needs
• Build a safe, trusting relationship using attachment‑aware strategies
• Support emotional regulation, behaviour management, and engagement in learning
• Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and pastoral team
• Assist with transitions, routines, and structured activities
• Promote positive social skills, confidence, and independence
• Follow safeguarding procedures and maintain accurate records

Person Specification

• Strong emotional resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure
• A nurturing, patient, and consistent approach
• Confidence in de‑escalation and behaviour support
• Ability to work collaboratively with school staff and external professionals
• Experience with SEMH or behaviour support (desirable but not essential)
