Hours: 8:45am–3:15pm
Days: Mon & Tues (extra days available)
Start: ASAP
Hourly rate: £14.50-£15 per hour + holiday pay
Role Purpose
We’re recruiting a resilient and nurturing Teaching Assistant to support a Year 4 pupil with social, emotional, and behavioural needs. The pupil requires consistent 1:1 support from someone confident using trauma‑informed and attachment‑aware approaches.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide full‑time 1:1 support to a Year 4 pupil with SEMH needs
- Build a safe, trusting relationship using attachment‑aware strategies
- Support emotional regulation, behaviour management, and engagement in learning
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and pastoral team
- Assist with transitions, routines, and structured activities
- Promote positive social skills, confidence, and independence
- Follow safeguarding procedures and maintain accurate records
Person Specification
- Strong emotional resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure
- A nurturing, patient, and consistent approach
- Confidence in de‑escalation and behaviour support
- Ability to work collaboratively with school staff and external professionals
- Experience with SEMH or behaviour support (desirable but not essential)
